Act, Love, Walk Ministry (A.L.W.) exists to encourage and facilitate Christ-filled relationships that will equip others with lasting solutions for their physical, spiritual, and educational needs in order to empower young women in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia to rise above their current situation. We will be assisting girls and young women that are being exploited and enticed into prostitution and domestic slavery. Many of these young women are enticed from the poorer areas of the countryside with the promise of good paying jobs and a better life. Once they are assimilated into the new life, they have an exceedingly difficult time getting out of it. We will assist them in escaping from this lifestyle through a multi-faceted program. This program will focus on their physical, educational, spiritual, and psychological needs. Our desire is to see lives transformed and instill a sense of pride, accomplishment, and self-worth in the women that we work with. |

Gospel Passion Ministries Inc is a non-profit corporation and shall operate exclusively for religious, educational, and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Initially, our main focus will be on assisting girls and young women that are being exploited and enticed into prostitution and domestic slavery in the Bahir Dar area of Ethiopia.
In meeting their physical needs, we will rent a property that is safe for them. They will live in community with the other girls/women in the program. A full-time houseparent will be employed that will provide daily oversight and assistance. They will be provided with food, clothing, and medical care as needed. They will assist in the operation of the house by helping with the cooking and cleaning.
Gospel Passion Ministries Inc will meet their educational needs by providing tuition for training programs to teach them a marketable skill of their choosing. Programs such as hairdressing, massage therapy, cooking school, or other such training as they may be interested in are available and will be provided. For those that are younger and have not yet finished their public-school education, arrangements will be made to enroll them in the appropriate grade and provide books and uniforms for them.
Their spiritual needs will be met in several ways. As Bible-believing Christians, we believe that God has called us to share His truth to the world, to give others the opportunity to hear the gospel, and to make disciples of Jesus Christ. To that end, the houseparent, or other partners, will conduct bible studies in the house that the girls will be encouraged to attend. Sunday morning church services will also be encouraged.
Their psychological needs will be met by having the opportunity to speak with a trained psychologist on a regular basis. Through these communications, they will be able to work through any psychological trauma that they may have. They will also be encouraged to be open and honest about things in their lives and any problems that they are having with either the houseparent or the psychologist.
It is anticipated that each girl will be in the program for approximately nine months. The training programs are typically about six months long. After they graduate from their training program, they will continue to live in the house for approximately three months to establish a work history and to build up savings that will allow them to transition to their own residence. We will continue to follow up with them to encourage and assist them as needed.
These activities will be funded by donations from the general public and from churches. At the present time we are not anticipating grant revenue but will investigate opportunities as they arise. Approximately 70% of the overall expenses will be allocated to this activity.
These activities further the charitable purpose in that they are providing relief to distressed and underprivileged girls that are being exploited in either prostitution or domestic slavery. It is also clearly advancing religion and education for the girls.
Gospel Passion Ministries Inc will attempt to accomplish this by developing solutions in the areas of supported living conditions, education, and employment while sharing and living out the gospel of Christ.
