The view from the front porch of the new house Ubah recently took a trip to Bahir Dar to help figure out a better housing situation. She worked with Genet to find a secure house in a good location. God opened up a place right down the street from where they have been and right across the street from the church! Such a blessing! We are renting the entire compound, which has increased our ability to provide a safe environment for the young women and Elsa, the housemother. This has also increased our costs a bit as the rent is more expensive. Yenesew and Mekedes have both completed their training programs in sewing and embroidery and are in the process of looking for employment. They will continue to live in the house during this time of transition and for some time after finding work. This will allow them to become more prepared for independent living. A new girl has joined the program. Her name is Tigist. She has started her embroidery class and is very excited to be a part of the program! We currently have 5 girls in the program. 3 of the young ladies in the program Last month we told you that we would spotlight our in-country manager, Genet Kerebih. Genet was born in the city of Debra Markos, Ethiopia. She is married and has two children. She is a faithful follower of Christ with a servant’s heart and has recently completed a four year Theology Program through the local church. Genet is involved in ministry throughout the church. She is the director of the children’s ministry at church as well as being on rotation as a leader of the Sunday morning prayer times. Genet has served with several organizations and is very involved in the Good Samaritan Group at the church (a ministry dedicated to serving the poor and needy). Genet is an essential member to Gospel Passion Ministries, and we are truly blessed to be serving with her! Genet, Elsa, and Ubah
