As 2021 ends, we look back to reflect on what God has done. Early in the year we received our 501c3 tax exempt status as a non profit ministry. Thanks to a few generous donations we were able to begin ministry work over in Ethiopia. In June, we flew to Bahir Dar, Ethiopia and officially opened the girls home. We moved in 4 girls and Elsa, our house mom. Within a couple of months a 5th girl joined the ministry. Several months later, some of the girls finished their training programs and moved out to start their lives. We had only 2 girls in the home for about a week and then 2 more joined. In the last month, 3 of them finished their training programs. 1 of them, Bayush, was immediately offered a job as a hair dresser. We were all so excited for her, and thankful to God for this opportunity. She is still in our program while she saves money and prepares to start the next chapter of her life. The other two girls, Yenesew and Mekides, finished embroidery training and chose to enroll in a sewing training program to help prepare them more for the future. The 4th girl, Hermela, is on winter break of her 9th grade year.
Everything seems to be running smoothly as far as the ministry is concerned. Our manager, Genet, has been doing a fantastic job of directing the ministry on the ground. We are grateful to God! He has brought us amazing people that care for the girls. Along with Genet, our psychologist, Jerusalem, has been such a blessing for the girls. We are also thankful for Elsa, our house mother. We are excited to see what God has in store for 2022. Please join us in praying for our ministry. Also, prayerfully consider becoming one of our monthly financial supporters so that we can continue this ministry and hopefully grow to help more girls escape prostitution or domestic slavery and learn about the Gospel. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected]. May God Bless you all in this coming year! Stephen Carlton President, Gospel Passion Ministries P.S. Here are some pictures of the embroidery work the girls have done.
